About me

My teaching style is mainly communicative - what this means is I focus on meaningful communication (role-plays, real-life tasks, group work). My lesson plans are flexible, usually adhering to the students' preferences and levels. I help students develop fluency and confidence, while also improving their listening and speaking skills. I encourage my students to learn on their own outside of class, using media and technology for a more immersive, practical learning experience (for example: movies, music, books, phone applications). I evaluate students' levels with a 30-minute conversation, with increasing difficulties in terms of topics, grammar and vocab over time (from greetings to discussing complex, abstract ideas). I have experience teaching primary and secondary school students who may or may not have the confidence to speak the language fluently yet, emphasizing on filling in knowledge gaps and improving pronunciation with an American English accent.
